Enrollment for the 2025-2026 Academic Year

at the Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs

The Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education at The Education University of Hong Kong, with the support of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Special Schools Council, successfully applied for the "Chief Executive's Community Project Initiative" in 2019. With the generous donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs was established to provide learning opportunities within the university campus for graduates with special educational needs who have left school. The academy is a full-time, tuition-free program that emphasizes both theory and practice, aiming to enable students to continue their education, learn self-management, and master 21st-century life skills.

Due to the extensive support from various stakeholders, the academy has achieved fruitful results and successfully established a network with employment organizations, allowing students to experience different types of work and prepare for entering the job market. In 2023, the institute decided to self-fund the continued operation of the Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs. In 2024, the academy once again received funding from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and joined the second phase of the "Jockey Club Inclusive·Action Project." It will continue to provide course training and more work practice opportunities, enabling students to accumulate more experience and skills for transitioning into the workplace.

The 2025-26 academic year has begun enrollment, with the application deadline set for Sunday, June 8, 2025.
